The Chandlery
The Kitchen
The kitchen in the Chandlery was designed around a long wood table instead of an island, the kind of table where people naturally gather and stay longer than they meant to. It fits the old boat-store feeling of the house better than anything new or polished would have.
The counters and backsplash are old reclaimed marble, worn smooth in places and imperfect in the best way. Lucy's granddad found it in the back of one of the old warehouse. The wood cabinets, open shelves, and wide plank floors keep the room feeling rustic and practical, as if every part of it has been used for years.
The stove is one of the old gas stoves, sturdy and reliable, Hannah was gifted it from the farm, when they redid their kitchen. It still worked beautifully and it was a blessing - getting large appliances like this onto the island is a big undertaking. Like the rest of the Chandlery, the kitchen is a mix of what was inherited, what was restored, and what simply made sense for life on Creek Island.
